Shape and drive the marketing, media and publicity activities for Impro Melbourne
Impro Melbourne is seeking a marketing and communications specialist or graduate to manage and implement marketing and publicity for Impro Melbourne over a 12 month period.
What will you do?
Your role will position you as the key media contact for Impro Melbourne and its shows and activities. You’ll work with the Artistic Directors and General Manager to set up the marketing and publicity plan for the year, establish a schedule and timeframe and implement the plan. You’ll also be responsible for liaising with the directors of seasons and shows to establish publicity themes for marketing materials. Other jobs include managing Impro Melbourne’s social media presence and publicity, keeping the media informed on new and upcoming shows, writing copy for and updating the website (this does not include coding and programming), and undertaking any other relevant publicity and communications activities as necessary to promote Impro Melbourne and its shows and activities.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for applicants with qualifications in media, marketing, communications, journalism or publicity and a working knowledge of marketing in an arts context. Knowledge of improvisational theatre is highly desirable. The position would suit an enthusiastic graduate looking to acquire on-the-ground experience in a professional arts company.

Further information and application process
This is part-time position with flexible hours. Time commitments will vary week to week with the activity level in the company, with the minimum time commitment required usually 2-3 hours per week on average. The contract being offered is for a 12 month period, with the possibility of extension.
There is a wage payable for this position of $100 a week (equivalent to $5,200 per annum).
