Teens Impro

An improvisation course for young people who want to play, have fun, and make things up on the spot!

In this 7-week course, they will learn the basics of improvisation through engaging games and exercises that call on spontaneity, collaboration, and creativity, all in a safe and inclusive environment.  Great for all budding actors, young people, and those who want a confidence boost. 

Focusing on 

  • Being present in the moment
  • Accepting ideas - saying 'Yes!'
  • Idea generation 
  • Supportive play and collaboration
  • Silencing the internal critic
  • Improving communication skills
  • Active listening

Ages 13 years - 17 years (If you are over or under these years please email us at publicworkshops@impromelbourne.com.au for the next available course for you.)

The class size is limited to 12 students. 

These skills can then be taken into acting, public speaking, general communication, and more.

Katherine Weaver is an improvisor, actor, teacher and Artistic Director of Impro Melbourne. She has performed and directed for many seasons with Impro Melbourne in such shows as Theatresports™, Gorilla Theatre™ and Maestro™. Her love of performing is only matched by her love of teaching, which she has been honoured to do in Wurzburg Germany, Wellington New Zealand, Adelaide Australia and Canberra.
