The Subtext Machine

with Tim Redmond
Dialogue is useful, but the content of our dialogue isn’t the all and everything of our work. Can we improvise in a manner where a simple line like, “Would you like a cup of tea?” carries an entire world of meaning?
Yes, we can.
Welcome to The Subtext Machine. A workshop on amplifying the unsaid and slowing right down to mine the simplest speech for meaning

Great for actors or those seeking more grounded work.

Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne’s completion of our core courses (SpontaneityNarrative TechniqueCharacter Scene Work Formats, and styles), or equivalent impro experience as determined by the Artistic Director.

Questions? Contact our workshop co-ordinator Katherine.

Age requirement: 18 and over. Please see our Impro in Schools programs for anyone under 18.
