Learn how to read (between) the lines!
As much as we love working without scripts, scripted work is a powerful way to develop the acting skills we use in improvisation. You'll analyse, rehearse and perform scenes from classic contemporay plays by playwrights such as Chekhov, Brecht and Pinter.
In this course, you will learn:
- playing an intention
- being changed by what is said to you
- understanding your body in space on stage
- use of stage space
- awareness of vocal projection
- emotional connection
- character development
With a limited class size of 6 students, this course is designed to give each person an active and intensive experience.
Note: this course will require students to do work at home such as memorisation.
Prerequisite: Impro Melbourne's Spontaneity, Narrative Technique, Character, and Scene Work courses, or similar training at the discretion of the Artistic Director or course instructor.
Impro Melbourne workshops are for ages 18 and over. Under 18 years of age? Please see our Theatresports Schools Challenge and Impro in Schools programs.
